EMA began conducting weekly wastewater sample collection activities for this facility in 2009.  Due to an inadequate treatment system design and failing regulatory non-compliance ADESA corporate requested EMA to evaluate the facility and wastewater treatment systems (car and heavy-duty truck).   EMA evaluated the influent characteristics, performed several treatment system upgrades, implemented a custom-designed chemical precipitant, and returned the facility to compliance. Under its affiliate company REM-CON, EMA designed and replaced the existing wastewater treatment system in 2014. REM-CON continues to operate the treatment system and perform regulatory reporting and compliance assistance.
